Nadur: a hilltop village day in eastern Gozo
Nadur offers a village-centred way to explore eastern Gozo. Its hilltop setting is useful to remember: a nearby bay on the map can still mean a substantial descent and return.

A practical starting plan
- 01
Choose your main experience
A village half-day, or a longer eastern-Gozo outing with one chosen companion stop.
- 02
Plan the complete approach
Start with the square, then plan any viewpoint or bay as its own route.
- 03
Keep the return manageable
Assess the change of level for each extension beyond the village centre.
Give the village the first part of the day
The parish church of Saints Peter and Paul and its square provide an orientation point. Explore a modest public loop and pause rather than driving straight through to the next bay. Churches remain places of worship; use current visiting information and follow signs before entering. A meal or bakery stop can give the visit a natural centre without needing a large sightseeing list.
Choose a bakery stop with realistic expectations
VisitGozo lists bakeries in the area, including Nadur. If a particular item or large order matters, contact the bakery for current availability and collection arrangements. Compare what you are ordering rather than assuming every item called ftira has the same form or filling. Ask directly about ingredients and dietary needs. Carry the food somewhere appropriate and take the packaging away.
Keep the coast a separate decision
San Blas, Ramla and Daħlet Qorrot are coastal names associated with the wider area, not extensions of a flat village promenade. Check the actual approach and return for your chosen bay. If you are arriving from Malta for a single day, island transfers already take part of the available time. A village visit and one other stop can be plenty before returning to the harbour.
